I just come across some inappropriate Halloween costumes selling online. I thought these are really disturbing and insensitive.
These are the two disturbing Hallowee Costumes I have ever come across.
1. The first costumes are called ‘Halloween Cheerleader’ and ‘Halloween American Footballer’. They are designed to look like they are blood stained, with an obvious bullet-style pattern on the costumes sold in store and online.
It is reported that the costume is being sold in Asda and a shocked and disgusted mum was demanding the supermarket to withdraw such costume. The costume was obviously designed to look “bullet ridden” which brings back the memory of students being killed in various gun violence incidents happened in high schools not long ago.
“When America has such a problem with gun crime, this sends out all the wrong messages. It is in terrible taste and must be very hurtful to any family who has been affected by gun crime. My husband was also shocked when I showed him the photo of the costume on my phone. as were my friends.” A concerned customer said.
2. The second costumes are nonetheless the so called “Ebola costumes”.
The creator of this costume basically capitalise on the talk and the fear on the current outbreak of Ebola disease. There are people who are suffering from the disease and I would say this is not funny at all.
I just found both costumes disgusting. As a wise consumer, I am sure you would make your choice wisely. Let’s make Halloween a real celebration. We have to reach out to people who are less fortunate. We do not mock on them.

Americans are expected to spend like foolish ghouls this Halloween, according to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation
Overall, $7.4 billion is projected to be spent on Halloween goodies in 2014, the NRF reports. “As one of the fastest-growing consumer holidays, Halloween has retailers of all shapes and sizes preparing their stores and websites for the busy fall shopping season,” said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay. “There’s no question that the variety of adult, child and even pet costumes now available has driven the demand and popularity of Halloween among consumers of all ages. And, with the holiday falling on a Friday this year, we fully expect there will be a record number of consumers taking to the streets, visiting haunted houses and throwing unforgettable celebrations.”
